I was born in Florence where I started taking photographs as a teenager and soon enough I moved to London to pursue my dream to become a photographer. There, I graduated from The London College of Printing followed by an MA in Art photography at The University of the Arts London. During my university years I worked as a documentary and portraiture photographer as well as the photography director for a national magazine. My personal projects explored the boundaries of documentary photography through issues of representation, reality and self-expression, and were exhibited internationally.
After 15 years of living in London, I decided to go back to my roots and make Tuscany my new home. Divided between my studio in Florence and my house in the hills, I now shoot lifestyle images for editorial and advertising for a variety of clients and collaborate regularly with some of the best picture libraries worldwide.
I am fascinated by people and the way they express themselves and their emotions through gestures, looks and body language. When I take lifestyle photographs, I always step back far enough to let the subjects personality surface, then capture real moments and emotions within every brief. I like to carefully create spaces and situations in which my subject can move in, and then photograph them relaxed to achieve a ‘natural’ moment.
Since 2007 I have collaborated with director David Steven Lee to create video and photographic content simultaneously on the same day. We may argue behind closed doors but we never fight over photographic and video priorities, making sure to achieve the best through intelligent planning and proven strategies.
I look forward to hearing from you for future commissions, info or anything else!
